BushLite WiFi
BushLite WiFi is a hotspot management system built to control access, manage vouchers and monitor usage across shared wireless networks — from voucher-based login through to real-time session and bandwidth oversight.
Discuss This Project
01What the project sets out to solve
The Problem
Shared wireless access points in community and small-business settings often lack a structured way to authenticate users, sell time-limited access, or see how bandwidth is being used across connected devices.
Objectives
- Provide a voucher-based authentication flow for network access
- Offer internet packages that can be purchased and activated by users
- Monitor active sessions in real time across multiple access points
- Allocate shared bandwidth fairly across connected devices
How the work moved forward
Approach
The system pairs a Node.js and Express.js backend with MikroTik router integration, handling authentication, package logic and session data, alongside a responsive web dashboard for monitoring and administration.
Development
Development covered the voucher and package system, the MikroTik integration layer for access-point control and the dashboard interface for real-time session and usage visibility.
Testing
The system has been exercised under real hotspot conditions — voucher redemption, concurrent sessions and bandwidth sharing across multiple access points.
Built with
Where the project stands now
BushLite WiFi is a completed, working Version 1.0 system, in active use managing hotspot access.
What's Next
Planned refinement includes expanded usage analytics, additional package configurations and continued hardening of the MikroTik integration layer.
